# Connect Claude

> Add Billpal to Claude as a custom connector.

You add Billpal to Claude as a custom connector and sign in to Billpal once. After that you turn Billpal on in a chat and ask about your documents.

**You need:** a Billpal account with setup finished, your authenticator app for signing in, and a Claude plan with custom connectors. That's Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise.

    In Billpal, open **Settings > AI agents** and click **Connect** on Claude. Claude opens with the window for a new connector. Name and URL are already filled in.

    To do it by hand instead: in Claude, open **Customize > Connectors**, click **+**, then **Add custom connector**. Enter `Billpal` as the name and `https://billpal.io/mcp` as the URL.

    For the OAuth client, choose **Register automatically**.

    Click **Add**. Claude opens the Billpal sign-in. Sign in and enter the code from your authenticator app.

    Billpal shows "Connect Claude to Billpal". Check under **Signed in as** that the right account is signed in, then click **Allow**.

In Billpal, Claude now shows as **Connected** under **Settings > AI agents**.

## Team and Enterprise

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner sets up the connector once for the organization. Then each person connects their own Billpal account.

    Open **Organization settings > Connectors** and choose **Add**, then **Custom**, then **Web**. Enter `Billpal` as the name and `https://billpal.io/mcp` as the URL, and choose **Register automatically** for the OAuth client.

    Each person opens **Customize > Connectors**, finds Billpal, and clicks **Connect**. Then they sign in to Billpal and click **Allow**.

Each person only sees the workspaces they can open in Billpal themselves. A shared connector doesn't share data between people.

## Use it in a chat

In a chat, click **+** at the bottom left, then **Connectors**, and turn on Billpal. Then ask your question as usual.

After a password change in Billpal, or after you disconnect, Claude asks you to reconnect. Click it and sign in to Billpal again.
