You add Billpal to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server and sign in to Billpal once. After that you can ask ChatGPT about your documents in any chat. You need: a Billpal account with setup finished, your authenticator app for signing in, and ChatGPT in a browser. ChatGPT shows its menus in the language set in ChatGPT. The labels below match the English interface.
1

Copy the server URL in Billpal

In Billpal, open Settings > AI agents and click Connect on ChatGPT. In the “Add Billpal to ChatGPT” window, click Copy URL, then Open ChatGPT.
2

Add a custom MCP server

In ChatGPT, click Add plugin and choose Custom MCP server.
3

Enter Billpal

Enter Billpal as the name and paste the server URL https://billpal.io/mcp. Choose OAuth for authentication. ChatGPT warns that custom servers can be a risk. Confirm the warning.
4

Create as a plugin

Click Create as a plugin. ChatGPT opens the Billpal sign-in. Sign in and enter the code from your authenticator app.
5

Allow access

Billpal shows “Connect ChatGPT to Billpal”. Check under Signed in as that the right account is signed in, then click Allow. If it’s the wrong account, click Sign out and sign in with the right one.
6

Use it in a chat

Install the plugin if ChatGPT asks. Type @ in a chat and pick Billpal, or ask your question directly.
In Billpal, ChatGPT now shows as Connected under Settings > AI agents.

When ChatGPT asks you to sign in again

After a password change in Billpal, or after you disconnect, ChatGPT asks you to reconnect. Click it and sign in to Billpal again.
