Connect Yahoo

You connect Yahoo Mail with an app password. That’s a separate password you create in your Yahoo account just for Billpal. You never enter your actual Yahoo password in Billpal.

Create an app password

Create one under Account security in your Yahoo account. Yahoo explains how in Generate and manage 3rd-party app passwords. Give it a name you’ll recognize later, such as “Billpal”, and copy it.

Choose Yahoo

In Billpal, go to Settings > Email, click Add, and choose Yahoo.

Enter your details

In Connect Yahoo, enter your Yahoo address under Email and paste the password you just created under App password. Display name sets what the inbox is called in Billpal.

Set the start date and connect

Use Start date to choose how far back Billpal imports documents. If you send your own invoices by email, also check Also import invoices from your Sent folder. Then click Connect.

If something goes wrong

Message	Cause	Fix
”Login was rejected” or “Check the password, or use an app password if needed”	You entered your Yahoo password instead of an app password, or a character got lost when copying.	Create a new app password and try again.
Expired	You revoked the app password in your Yahoo account.	Create a new app password, then under Settings > Email, click Reconnect on the inbox.
